Continuous Electro De-ionization

Electrodeionization (EDI) is an advanced, complex and environmentally friendly water purification technology that produces high-purity water by combining traditional ion exchange resins with electrically active membranes and a direct electrical current. Unlike conventional deionization systems that require regular regeneration using hazardous chemicals such as acids and alkalis, EDI continuously removes dissolved ions without the need for chemical regeneration, making it a sustainable and cost-effective solution. While conventional water treatment systems typically use Reverse Osmosis (RO) followed by Ion Exchange to achieve high water purity, EDI serves as a modern alternative for Ion Exchange that further enhances water quality while reducing chemical consumption, operating costs, and environmental impact. As a result, EDI is considered a viable alternative technology downstream of RO systems for industries requiring consistently purified water, including pharmaceutical, power generation, electronics, food and beverage, and other critical process applications.
